Our Origins

The Healing Essence is a natural skincare store and holistic massage service, offering 100% natural products, beautiful massage services and facials and exceptional customer service.

It all began with an ambition of one young woman in the picturesque town of Whitby (the jewel of the Yorkshire coast). This woman is Holly Johnston, who suffered with problematic skin from a young age and decided to turn to forms of natural healing to help. This is where the business idea started. She wanted to make an all natural skincare range that would suit all skin types and use only the purest of ingredients. She knew she wanted to be sustainable, responsible, and use the power of essential oils to heal you from the inside and out.

Taking the plunge she started making her very own formulas from her kitchen at home, using her own research and approved courses to proficiently build her very own skincare range.

At The Healing Essence when we say ‘natural’, we truly mean it.

All our products are 100% free of petrochemicals, phthalates, parabens or sodium lauryl sulfates (SLS), all of which are typically present in mass produced skincare products and can be damaging to the skin.

Over time, The Healing Essence has become well known for its impeccable quality and formidable effectiveness in natural personal care. To this day Holly believes, (like all of her customers) that natural skincare, aromatherapy and holistic treatments are vital to taking the very best care of yourself;
